The paradox of choice is the abundance of choices that we are faced with in everyday life. In life we are offered way more choices and options then we actually need, which makes us less satisfied when we want to buy something because we have expectations and we want to make them perfect, it makes it harder for us to go out and buy something simple, because we're faced with so many different kinds of products, whether your out trying to buy food, clothes, or electronics. We end up setting unreasonable expectations for us, making us question if we bought the right thing, and making us stress and feel bad about what we bought.
The effect on people's happiness is really just making them feel stupid if they bought the wrong thing, or the less expensive thing. It makes us question what we buy and go on thinking that there’s something wrong with us because we didn’t buy the right thing.
The paradox of choice makes us feel happy because we know that there’s a whole bunch of different stuff to choose from, but it also makes us feel unhappy because we know that there’s so much to choose from, and we don’t want to buy the "wrong" thing.
The paradox of choice affects my life because I’m also faced with the many options and choices we have today, and picking the wrong thing to buy can be very depressing. Buying the wrong thing means a lot more to teens then adults because we are faced with peers that judge, and they judge harshly on everything!
Whether it’s something from the clothes you wear, to shoes you wear, or even your makeup and friends.you could be feeling amazing about something you just bought, like a sweater, then someone comes up to you and goes "that sweater would of been better in blue, or brown" and instantly you feel like you've done something wrong, and you feel like you need to change it, immediately
